PANTHERS AT BUCCANEERS

Cam Newton’s fractured back will be the story going into this NFC South matchup. If he plays, which HC Ron Rivera says he will, the Buccaneers much improved defense will be ready. Michael Johnson and Gerald McCoy will be testing the Panthers offensive line early on and without Jordan Gross holding down the blindside, Carolina will be forced to go through some growing pains.

49ERS AT COWBOYS

The 49ers are being forced to dig deep into the depth chart to form a starting lineup with injuries and suspensions building up and their offense took a few weeks last year to gel, as it looks like it may this season after their preseason performance. The Cowboys know their defense is lacking able bodies and come out ready to compensate offensively. Defense is optional in this NFC Matchup.

COLTS AT BRONCOS

The NFL provided a great matchup for the first SNF game of the year. Peyton Manning is getting his revenge on the Colts after losing in his 2013 homecoming. The Broncos defense is loaded and should be ready for their AFC Championship preview: 2014 Predictions

7:10 pm ET GIANTS AT LIONS

The Giants offense looked about as awful as a team that went 5-0 in the preseason can go and the Lions look like they are trying to be the most explosive offense in NFL history by their offseason moves. The Lions defensive line will make enough plays against a poor offensive line for the Giants to see at least 3 solid #ManningFace’s. It’s a good thing we have a doubleheader on Monday Night, because this one if going to leave fans unsatisfied.

10:20 pm ET CHARGERS AT CARDINALS

The Chargers are going to have one of the better offenses in 2014 and the Cardinals defense should be solid. The injuries to the Cardinals defense become visible in this random AFC-NFC matchup to start the season, but the Carson Palmer-Larry Fitzgerald connection is going to be much improved in their 2nd year together and win a wild one in the desert.
