Texas A&M Edge Rusher Myles Garrett is going to be the #1 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. You can lock that up now.
Garrett is a 20-year old freak athlete at 6’5″ and weighing in at 260 pounds. He can beat offensive lineman with speed and/or power.
He is a prototype 4-3 defensive end, but if the Cleveland Browns end up taking him #1 overall, they could potentially force him into an edge rushing position in their 3-4. Although Garrett is the type of player that you build your defense around, rather than force a round peg into a square hole.
Myles Garrett has been compared to a lot of pass rushing greats to come out of college, such as Jadeveon Clowney and Von Miller, but Garrett has his own unique blend of skills.
As far as the Clowney comparison, Garrett is a high motor guy, so effort will never be a question. And Von Miller wishes he had the size/strength combo that Garrett possesses.
Myles Garrett seems to have a good head on his shoulders too and is able to translate that into solid awareness on the field (as seen on the play against Dak Prescott where he reads and plays the option perfectly).
Myles Garrett is the easiest prospect to grade in the 2017 NFL Draft and should be an easy choice for the team that ends up with the #1 overall pick. *cough*Browns*cough
