History of the Madden Curse

Madden 07 – Shaun AlexanderMadden 07

The Madden Curse is alive and well at this point.

This NFL MVP was surely going to be the one to “beat” the Curse coming off his 28-TD season. But sure enough, Alexander fractured his foot and was limited to 10 games that season. The following season his numbers continued to drop and he retired from the NFL in 2008 after a failed stint with the Redskins.

Madden 08 – Vince YoungMadden 08

The Madden Curse infected Vince Young with a dreaded “sophomore slump” after going to the Pro Bowl and winning Rookie Of The Year. That year Vince Young missed a game for the first time ever (dating back to his middle school) due to an injured right quadricep. He never returned to form, playing in 3 games the following season and starting only one, before being replaced by Kerry Collins.

some of these dont consist of madden curses. Calvin Johnson was not effected clearly he played through the season and he broke (and tied) records. if he didnt tell everyone that he hurt himself no one would’ve known

and Richard Sherman MADE IT TO THE SUPERBOWL!!! how is that a curse. a debatable play call to win the game is not a madden curse effect neither was that shoulder injury he still played like richard sherman throughout the season

thats at least 2 points for players

drew brees, Larry fitzgerald are debatable
