1st Quarterly Report (Week 4) - Early Season Trends

By on October 6, 2015

  • Superstar Disappointments - DeMarco Murray & Calvin Johnson

In some leagues, DeMarco Murray was a high first-round pick. For everyone, he’s been the biggest disappointment during the first quarter of the season. Scoring more than 5 fantasy points in only ONE game this season, it’s been hard for fantasy owners who are waiting for his breakout game.

Will he ever return to 2014 form?

Yes.. and no. Don’t expect the 2014 DeMarco Murray to resurrect and perform on a weekly basis. But we will see him produce, eventually. Keep him on your roster, unless there is someone out there that is desperate and willing to take a chance on him, then trade him. Aim for a Frank Gore or even Lamar Miller.

Calvin Johnson, Megatron, ranking at 26th among WRs, has been the biggest surprise to me. Always being the model of consistency, he has dramatically fell short only scoring an average of 8 points/game.

Is he on the downward spiral of his career?

Absolutely not. Megatron may have faced his 3 toughest defenses of the season in the first 4 weeks (Seattle, Denver, and Minnesota). He has brighter games ahead of him, including Chicago twice, Kansas City, and Oakland. Historically, he has dominated Chicago with 36 fantasy points between 2 games last year. Hang on fantasy owners, there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
