After spending 4 years as Adrian Peterson’s backup, Toby Gerhart has finally found a legitimate chance to be a starting running back… for the Jaguars. While he attempts to replace Maurice Jones-Drew, most have long forgotten that Gerhart was a 2nd round pick out of Stanford after leading the country in rushing (1,871), carries (343), and touchdowns (28) in his senior year.
Since Adrian Peterson only comes off the field for injury, Gerhart has little wear and tear on his body while spending 4 years training with an NFL team and getting his bulky build (6’0″, 230 lbs.) ready to withstand the rigor of a 16-game NFL season.
Next: Arian Foster
