#3 - Adam Archuleta, Washington Redskins, 2006
Riding the success of the Rams Super Bowl teams, Adam Archuleta managed to earn the largest contract to date for a safety, nevermind the fact that he had proven to be an above average safety at best. The 7-year, $35Million contract went on Dan Snyder’s Wall of Shame after Archuleta was demoted to special teams after only 7 games. The Redskins traded him to the Bears for a 6th round pick after his first year of the deal.
