2014 NFL Mock Draft 4.0
#9
After making a move to get QB EJ Manuel another WR, the Bills need to focus on protecting him in 2014. Texas A&M LT Jake Matthews could’ve been a top-5 pick in 2013, but the depth of the 2014 NFL Draft and emergence of Greg Robinson forces him to slide down slightly to #9.
Bills Previous Mocks: DE/OLB Khalil Mack & WR Mike Evans

Before the offseason started, it was apparent that the Lions needed a running mate for Calvin Johnson. They did that in signing WR Golden Tate from the Seahawks, which frees them up to address the defense. Alabama FS HaHa Clinton-Dix should slide into Louis Delmas’ spot and provide an upgrade to an awful secondary.
Lions Previous Mocks: WR Mike Evans, LT Jake Matthews, & Justin Gilbert

The Titans are in the process of transitioning their defense under new defensive coordinator, Ray Horton. Horton now has the task of teaching young, promising 4-3 personnel how to play and perform out of position in a 3-4. A new defense needs a new face and leader to help the transition along and Alabama MLB C.J. Mosley will provide that and the flexibility to play multiple linebacker positions as they begin to find players suited for scheme.

Titans Previous Mocks: DE/OLB Anthony Barr

Eli Manning needs offensive weapons for success and it’s unlikely the Giants reach on a wide receiver with this pick. The Giants don’t typically use their resources on finding a Tight End because their long time TE coach, Mike Pope, could get production from 5th/6th round picks or free agent veterans. Pope has moved on to the Cowboys and the Giants are left with a hole they likely regret not filling long-term with Martellus Bennett last year.

Giants Previous Mocks: LT Taylor Lewan
