Top Rated Players by Position in Madden 15
Tight Ends
Saints TE Jimmy Graham
Jimmy Graham is definitely listed under the Tight Ends in Madden 15 and should be one of the most dominant Tight Ends to ever be featured in the series. His speed allows him to move outside (85 SPD/88 ACC) in 4 or 5 WR sets, while you don’t lose any ability as a pass catcher (92 CTH). With the size of players being more and more realistic in Madden every year, his 6’7″ frame makes him an easy target for Drew Brees to throw jump balls to in the endzone.
Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski
If you are playing with the Patriots, you might want to turn the injuries off (73 INJ). Gronk will be one of those players you cringe every time they take a big hit, fearing they will be out for the game with some petty injury. Tom Brady doesn’t have a lot of weapons to throw to, so losing the 2nd best TE in the game handicaps the offense tremendously.
49ers TE Vernon Davis
Vernon Davis has been a vertical threat in Madden since his rookie year after running a blazing 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine. His 90 SPD is lower than it has been in previous editions, but still among the best at his position.
Cowboys TE Jason Witten
Witten has never been the biggest, fastest, or strongest TE, but he always gets the job done. Madden has done a great job replicating this consistent quality of his over the years as the Cowboys most reliable target in the passing game. With 96 AWR, 87 RTE, and 94 CTH, Witten should remain one of the Cowboys 1st options in the short passing game.
Panthers TE Greg Olsen
Greg Olsen is going to be Cam Newton’s favorite target in Madden 15 due to the simple fact that his previous favorite target is gone (Steve Smith) and there are no better options on the team. Olsen has the speed (88 SPD) to move outside if necessary, but should also be a contributing factor in the running game as he is a top-10 run blocker at the TE position.
____
Offensive Lineman
You used to be able to get away with a bad offensive line in Madden; not anymore. Without a good offensive line, your offense doesn’t work. Period. The tackles get all of the glory for protecting the QB (as much glory as an OL can get), while the guards and centers are the ones responsible for establishing your running game.
