2014 Base Salary: $11,750,000 (Highest among Running Backs; 2nd: LeSean McCoy - $7,650,000)
While Adrian Peterson didn’t have a full season to defend his salary on the field, his absence was self-inflicted. In his one game in 2014, Peterson was unimpressive against the Rams (21 carries, 75 yards, 0 TDs, 3.6 YPC). AP will be 30 years old going into next season, the dreaded age for running backs, and it is unlikely that he continues his All-Pro domination. After the PR-black eye Peterson gave the Vikings franchise, he could be looking for a new team in 2015.
